North Cascades National Park

Part 3 of my Pacific Northwest trip, the final destination!

This was kind of a last minute trip, I wasn’t planning to go this far north. I went mainly just to see Diablo Lake and how blue it is. It definitely lives up to the expectations of being blue. The glaciers grind against the rocks and drop “glacier flour” into the water dying it that amazing blue color. If it was sunnier out the blue would of been even more apparent… If it was sunnier out for most of the trip I think all the photos would of turned out a little different.

I didn’t get to spend much time here because it was getting late and I was flying out the next day, but I got the shot I came for so it worked out. There seems to be a theme across all the parks in Washington: There’s TONS of waterfalls! Like literally so many, there were more places I could of stopped at in this park but I got tired of seeing waterfalls because they all started to looked the same.

Also, like Olympic National Park if you want to see anything besides Diablo Lake you have to do the hikes and such, it’s not a drive around and see things kind of park.

In this past week I think I’ve seen enough trees to last a lifetime, I’ll happily be returning home to the concrete jungle that is So-Cal.

Until next time Washington!
